Multiple choices

Think of the last time you had to do something because you didn't have a choice. You did it regardless of difficulty, or your perception of the chance for success.

Why was it possible for you to do it?

Because when there are no choices to make there is nothing to compare the effort to. This makes the execution not only possible, but often times makes it easy.

We're too often quick to convince ourselves that we're having a hard time, just because we're subconsciously comparing our task or mission to a million other things we could be doing, or a million different ways in which this thing can be done.

But if there's only one way, it's straightforward and you just do it. If your life depends on it, you just do it. If it's for someone you care about, you just do it. One speed: go.

In the rare opportunities which life serves us with, when we have no other choice but to do the thing we need to do, we have the chance to witness our higher, or true potential. These opportunities are rare, they are usually uncomfortable, sometimes downright painful to go through, but they are precious.

Our performances in these circumstances are not some kind of superhuman efforts. They are very much human, and very much within you. Well you minus the doubt, and the fear of failure.
