You can’t help but feel like this sometimes when you are a designer.

This is a show. I love it when bands play in the crowd. Yage did it, I’ve heard. Didn’t get a chance to see them live. :(

Exit Festival - Days 3 & 4

The third and fourth days of the festival were so crazy I didn’t even have time or the willpower to blog them. Two days later, here’s the recap.

Day 3

On Saturday a friend came to visit from Belgrade, so we kicked it with him until the festival started (he didn’t want to go that day). We went though and saw Gogol Bordello and they blew us away. We met Petar and Ceca there in the crowd, and I went with them to talk some business, and left Jovana to see Juliette & the Licks.

Later on we met up with a bunch of friends and drank beers and rakijas, and even saw The Dogz play. At a certain point of the evening I got so shitfaced I had to get out from there and I just went straight home.

Day 4

37-39 degrees celsius outside, we decided to go out to the hall of fame and do a piece. After about three hours in the scorching heat and two worst pieces ever, we went home for a bit of rest. On the way we meat up with another two friends from Belgrade, picked up some groceries and later on made a nice meal and kicked it low key.

Time was slowly passing and it was time to go see The Hives. We got all the way through to the first rows and man was it worth it. What a show!!! Howlin’ Pele is awesome, going down to the crowd a bunch of times to sing and share the energy. I haven’t really been listening to The Hives for the last 4-5 years, but this show made me want to go back to them. After that we took it slow, had some beers, saw some people and eventually wen to see the Sex Pistols. Man what a load of rubbish… Some things should just be left alone and never tried to be resurrected. After the colossal fail that were The Sex Pistols, we went to see Edo Maajka who surprisingly threw a good show. I never saw him live, but they really can move the crowd, too bad they didn’t play “Svirali su gansi” because we were really hyping up for that song. After Edo we stayed at the fusion stage and caught some of Mark Ramone’s show. I was never into The Ramones because their music really sounds retarded to me, but hearing those songs was kind of fun, especially because we were with friends that were H/C fans of the Ramones.

After that we went home and said goodbye to the festival for this year. Two days have passed and I still haven’t completely returned to normal, but it’s getting there. I really feel the need to do some normal things for a while, really take it easy on the partying. Pics from the festival are on their way. Cheers.

Exit Festival - Day 2

Today started out really slow and just relaxed as we saw The Gossip on main stage. By the way – they are awesome, that chick is crazy 100%, asking her drummer (also a girl) if she would give Pharell1 a 5minute, or a 2 minute blowjob. Nevertheless, her singing is insane and she has amazing stage presence.

Also I made arrangements to go see fucking Down in Sofia on the 25th. I can’t believe Metallica is headlining that show.

Interesting

If a member of your group has a sharpie – turn away and run. I ended up with much memorable tattoos such as “Oh Yeah!”, an anchor, another anchor on the other forearm, and “Baklja” (that’s my street name). Hahaha, lol @ me saying “streetname” for a nickname I have given myself. Anyway – drunk tattoos = bad, street names also = bad.

Another thing – if your band is supposed to play at the festival and you get a kick ass time slot, it’s a bad idea to get a job for the festival working on the gates and get your band’s gig rescheduled for 3am.

Music

Saw The Gossip, Ground Zero got rescheduled so we missed them, caught Transbalkan though, they were great but I can’t make myself stay awake after 2:30am, so we left half through their set. Lots of junkies and hippies in the crowd though, shrugs.

1 N.E.R.D. performed a day before them.

Exit Festival - Day 1

Considering I have been up since 5:30am yesterday it went really really well. We had loads of fun, people weren’t fighting over who wants to see what, although certain people got lost from the group a couple of times.

Interesting Facts

  1. Best amount of people in your group for the festival: 4.
  2. Beer is pretty cheap – 700 RSD for a six-pack. Glasses are 0.5l so it’s 3l of beer for ~9€.

Music and Happenings

As far as the music is concerned – this year’s Exit practically ended for me, might a well call it quits. I saw two great concerts, one of which was definitely the highlight of this year’s Exit and that’s Milan Mumin. The other notable show (not surprisingly – a Serbian band as well) is Čovek Bez Sluha. The Streets also had a great show, but by then I was so tired I just crashed and we headed home right after Skinner’s show ended.

Tracking My Diet

I remember running into what I think is a really cool service some time age – FoodFeed. It’s a thingie that lets you update and track your eating habits through Twitter. You just send an @ reply to Twitter user having much like this:

@having Veggie tortillas w/ mushrooms, lettuce, cabbage, red onion and sour cream

Now, I remember being very interested in knowing exactly what I eat and when, but I just wasn’t very responsible at updating it with information. Since I am now on a self prescribed diet regimen, I really want to see what I can do with this. Basically I have been on a diet for two weeks now and I’m already seeing some results, so hopefully I hope to lose the belly and the love handles in a month or so.

In addition to FoodFeed I have looked at TweetWhatYouEat.com which even displays the calories for certain foods, but it’s not as pretty looking as FoodFeed and also I saw I need to enter calories for the food I eat (I am clueless when it comes to calories and that stuff), so I decided to pass on it.

If you’re interested in the progress – follow me on Twitter, cheers.
